Riding a bike

I think it took him about 5 minutes to learn to ride a bike today.  Once he was ready, he said, "No dad, don't hold on to me!"

Julia's Ballet Recital 2015

She practices all year long and it comes down to 90 seconds on stage for us all to see.  She's a fun performer, and she has a great time dancing.

Here she is, a Yellow Bird.

Going up the mountain - Wednesday

Wednesday was a trip up to La Bastille, a fort built on top of the mountain 200 years ago.  How do you get up there? In a tram, hike, drive, or via ferrata.  I chose to ride the tram.

These are the tram "bubbles" that we rode

 Looking down

You can see another outpost further up

Me and the IT crew (Benjamin, Audrey, Yoann #1, Yoann #2, me)

Apparently this is the longest+straightest road in France at 8 KM

 Dinner was delicious once again

And dessert was c'était délicieux

New country, new things - Monday

It's like an art history tour, only less walking

The Church of St. Andres, built in the 13th century

 The old courthouse

Dinner

 Ooh, look, a castle

 And there's another one

 And...another one.
I think if I build a tower on the side of my house, people will think I live in a castle

Sightseeing - Sunday

Lots of cheese at the farmer's market

The stoplights are at the near side of the intersection instead of across the way

Creme brûlée.  I ate this all for you Nat!

Traveling to France - Saturday

There were lots of tunnels between Geneva, Switzerland and France

At the hotel

A standard elevator with barely enough room for me, but it says the max is 8 people

Definitely happy to see a cooked steak arrive after my first time ordering at the restaurant

And dessert! (mom's are better of course)

Oh, that's another castle

I'm in France!
Yes I have to work while I'm here, but before and after work we've been doing some sight seeing.
And apparently castles are pretty common here, so much so that I told a few French coworkers the name of the castle that we went to see (Castle de Bon Repos) and they had never heard of it, even though it was only about 15 miles away.

Skills

The doctor came back into the exam room, sat down, shook her head and said, "yep, it's definitely broken.  There's no doubt about the x-ray, you can see the break as clear as day."

I knew my foot hurt a lot, and in a way I was glad to know it wasn't all in my head.  But still, a broken foot?!  There are much easier ways to get out of doing yard work.
