The Gold Rush

About 100 years ago a lot of people wanted to get rich by digging for gold, so they came here to Skagway.  They had to hike up a trail over the mountain pass, and then another few hundred miles to the gold.  I got to take a leisurely 90 minute train ride to the top of the mountain. 


This snowblower train clears the track by throwing the snow over 100 feet


Despite popular belief, Reed did not sleep the entire trip

    That is definitely the biggest snowblower I've ever seen - I always wondered how they got rid of snow on train tracks...
